No. In order to apply to MBA Prep, you must identify as an African American, Hispanic, or Native American. People who have a combination of any of these three ethnic groups are also encouraged to apply.

What makes a strong application for MLT?

Approach this as if this were you business school application. Make a strong case and really sell yourself as a candidate. If your job experience or transcript isn’t what you’d like them to be, provide outstanding essays and glowing letters of recommendation to boost your application. Give the whole process your best effort.

How much work experience should I have when applying?

You must have one year post-undergraduate work experience to apply to MBA Prep. Most b-school applicants have 3-5 years of solid work experience.

Will a below average undergrad record affect my application to MBAP?

Your academic record is an integral part of the MBA Prep application, as it will be to your b-school applications. It is not the only thing we take into account, however. If you aren’t satisfied with your undergraduate academic performance, we suggest that you take business related classes (statistics, accounting, economics, etc) at a junior college to demonstrate that you are capable of succeeding in a top business program.

Will a low GMAT score affect my application?

Like all b-school applications, MBA Prep requires a GMAT score from applicants. Unlike b-school applications, you may submit a practice score for consideration at the time you apply. If you are accepted into the program, however, you must secure an Official score of 500 or higher by February 1st, 2009, in order to start.

How do I submit my transcript and GMAT score?

These documents must be uploaded to your application in a PDF or MS Word format. Please name the documents in the following style: Last Name_First Name_Transcript.pdf, or Last Name_First Name_GMAT_MM DD YY.doc.

I clicked “Submit” and all that’s left is my recommendation. Am I done?

No. The request for recommendation will only be released once your application is submitted. Once you submit your application, your recommender will receive an email with a unique login. The recommender must follow the email instructions, log into the online recommendation system and fill out a form. This form is linked to your application. Once the form is completed by your recommender, your application is complete.

Your application is not considered complete until your recommender submits your letter. A sample recommendation form is available so you can let your recommender know what kind of information we are looking for once the request arrives. However, do not attempt to send this in as it will not be considered. SAMPLE

If you submit on November 15, your recommender has until November 22 to complete and submit the recommendation form.

Will you notify me if something is missing from my application?

Yes. MLT will contact you if your application is incomplete. Please Note: It is your responsibility to request and submit all application materials including GMAT scores and all other supporting documents.

Is there an interview?

Interviews are by invitation only and are required to be completed by those who have been asked to interview. MLT interviews allow our admissions team to explore your qualifications beyond those exhibited in your application. Interviews are conducted by current MLT staff and program alumni. Please Note: MLT does not honor interview requests.

How many applicants do you accept every year?

What is the percentage of applicants accepted over those who apply to the program? Last year we had approximately 600 applicants; our acceptance rate is about 40%.

When will I be notified if I am admitted into the program?

You will be notified in December if you apply in the first round and January if you apply in the second round.

What happens if I don’t get in? Can I re-apply the next year?
