Rising College Juniors: Career Prep runs from the fall of your junior year through the fall of your senior year. All applicants must be sophomores (or a member of the class of 2010 ) at the time of applying.
Under-Represented Minorities: All applicants must identify as African American/Black, Latino/Hispanic, and/or Native Americans.
Your essays and resume are opportunities for you to demonstrate excellence in the following 3 areas:
- Academic Achievement: To be considered, students must have solid academic standing. Those with a 3.0 GPA or greater are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must also have demonstrated leadership ability and motivation in their extracurricular activities.
- Leadership: Applicants need to demonstrate self-leadership and/or on-campus leadership through positions, volunteeering, and other extracurricular activities.
- Career Exploration & Progression: Applicants need to demonstrate their commitment to their personal professional path through participation in organizations, internships, and other excellence in relevant courses.
OPEN TO ALL MAJORS AND CAREER INTERESTS: This program is open to students from all disciplines and interests. You do not have to be a business or economics major, nor do you have to know what job or career that you plan to pursue. If you have an open mind and a willingness to work, the program is designed to help you determine that.
Due to limited resources and the demanding requirements of our program, admittance to the Career Prep program is selective. We would like to accept all applicants, but we can only offer personalized guidance and support to a limited number. The selection committee will review applications and may also follow up with a telephone interview to determine which students best meet the admission criteria. Admissions decisions typically come out within 2 months of deadline by which you apply.
The Career Prep Program application (for graduating class of 2010) will be open as of November 1, 2007.
Early Round: December 31, 2007 (decisions in late February)
First Round: February 28, 2008 (decisions in early May)
Second Round: April 15, 2008 (decisions in late June)

NOTE: Strong preference is given to early and first round applications. Admission in the second round is on a space-available basis.
