Leadership Training Weekends

MLT's events offer students opportunities for small group and one-to-one guidance with advisors and MLT Coaches. MLT organizes three weekend workshops for Career Prep participants:

Introductory Weekend: Held in September, the introductory workshop enables students to meet industry professionals from MLT's corporate partners, expand their knowledge about specific career paths, and learn the skills and attributes that hiring companies seek in applicants. Students also receive one-on-one advice from human resources professionals on how to improve on their identified development needs and enhance their hiring potential. At the end of the Introductory Workshop, students will be prepared to focus their career searches on one or two industries and develop an action plan.

Analytical Skills Weekend: Held in January, the analytic skills weekend focuses on developing the skills necessary to succeed in leading entry-level business jobs. Through instruction and case studies, students develop skills such as critical thinking, structured problem solving, quantitative analysis, oral and written communication, research skills and teamwork. This workshop is hosted by McKinsey & Company, a leading management consulting firm.

Interview Skills Weekend: Held in April, the interview skills weekend helps participants to apply to their target jobs effectively. Students undergo mock interviews, refine their cover letters and resumes, and craft their personal stories. After the workshop, the resumes and profiles of participants are submitted to MLT's corporate partners in the students' areas of interest.
